In January, before this whole pandemic scare, I was in Spain.
We have a time-share that we exchange with whatever tickles our fancy. Spain was
a place that we have never been to, and always dreamed about. So, there we were.
One day checking out the nice supermarket in our neighborhood, I saw a package
labeled Cocido Madrileño. It looked interesting so I insisted that we buy
it. I would happily cook that. Which I did. I couldn't find fresh chicken so I
used some that was frozen. Also the ingredients in the pre-packaged recipe
started were quite inferior. So it was quite disappointing. The one really great
thing was the chick peas. They gave an amazing flavor to my stew. So, after we
got back to NYC, I repeated the experiment. This time I got great ingredients
even though I cut some corners. It was really good. I'm cooking this again.
