This is a Middle-Eastern dish that is very easy to prepare and
well worth the effort.
Ingredients:
32 oz plain whole milk yogurt.
(make sure it has active cultures)
1/4 cup EVOO
2 T za'atar
Directions:
Line a large sieve with cheesecloth; set over a medium deep bowl. Place
yogurt in sieve. Gather edges of cheesecloth to cover yogurt. Place in
refrigerator and let drain for 2-3 days.
That's it - you got labneh. You can place it in a bowl and back in the fridge
until you're ready to serve it.
To serve, drizzle the olive oil over the top and sprinkle it with za'atar.
Use pita bread to scoop some. |
