The Mescha Restaurant is located at the entrance to Kfar
Tabor next to the Sonol gas station. Chef Duhul Safadi is the main man
here. He used to be the chef at the well known Diana Restaurant in Nazareth be
fore deciding to start his own kitchen. It is Middle Easter, but with a little
twist that he calls Galilee style cooking. I guess it is slightly different. I
never had eggplant cooked in this way. Just roasted, smothered in tahini, and
garnished with some herbs and spices. It was fantastic. Also the pan fried pita,
stuffed with lamb was delicious. I do not remember he called the dish on the
right, but it was kind like a pizza with a deliciously crunchy crust topped with
pieces of marinated grilled chicken and sprinkled herbs and pignoli nuts -
yummy. It was followed by a tasty kanafa baked in house and strong Turkish
coffee on the house. Thank you chef Duhul. I hope we can travel again soon so I
can come back. BTW - I asked the waiter about BYOB and he said
that will be fine.
